About Beau Chêne (bow-shin’)

Beau Chêne is French for Beautiful Oaks. The 250-acre Plantation was owned originally by the Fern Arnold family, then the Walters for over 20 years, and now our Spencer family. As a working family ranch, we’re nestled into the northern part of the Florida Panhandle, only a short hour drive from the beautiful white sand beaches of Panama City Beach (international airport), Rosemary Beach and Seaside. We feature a beautiful array of fields and forests, as well as Cypress ponds and sloughs surrounded by two lakes, which are on the migratory trail. Bales of hay dot our pastures where our horses roam sharing the land with deer in the fields.

Many animals lay claim to this natural environment. If you get lucky you might catch a glimpse of one of Florida’s native homesteaders, an alligator lying in the lake on a sunny day or see one of the many water birds that make Beau Chêne their home. The moss filled oak trees are the perfect nesting place for the owls and eagles native to the area. The trees also house many tuxedo fox squirrels as well as a few of our peacocks and wild turkeys. Tranquil night skies are filled with bright stars and silhouettes of bats flying quietly. In the background you may hear a coyote singing to the moon at dusk.
